Africa’s massive contributions to platforms like TikTok can’t keep being ignored. It’s frustrating when we’re among the top users but still face discrimination or exclusion in policies, payouts, and visibility.

Thankfully, some organizations are starting to raise their voices—like Ghana’s Creatives Against Discrimination, Paradigm Initiative, and Digital Action Lab in Nigeria. But we still need more coordinated, pan-African efforts to demand better representation, fair creator compensation, and transparent treatment.

It's on us too—to keep talking, keep organizing, and keep calling these platforms out. If we can dominate the trends, we can also shape the conversation around justice and equity.
