Forbes puts Kenyan creator, Elsa Majimbo, on Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Media list
The 21 year old comedian found fame during the pandemic
Kenyan creator, Elsa Majimbo has become one of the young Africans to be named under Forbes 30 Under 30 list for social media.
The 21 year old comedian, who found fame during the pandemic is one of the 30 social media influencers selected by a jury consisting of Under 30 alum Kris Collins, known to her 47 million TikTok followers as KallMeKris; Akash Nigam, founder and CEO of Genies, the company behind avatars used on iMessage; God-is Rivera, former global director of culture and community at Twitter; and Jerry Lu, principal of consumer venture capital firm Maveron.
The social media list touches categories like entertainment, media, gaming, finance and politics.
Some of the creators on this list include; artist Zachary Hsieh, 23, known to his 50 million followers as ZHC, as well as Victor Fontanez, 23, who turned to become a motivational speaker on the web after he lost his job during the pandemic.
Other influences include plus sized model, Remi Bader, 27, and Bloom Nutrition cofounder Mari Llewellyn, 28, who deal with beauty and women's bodies.
Also, Gen-Z for Change founder Aidan Kohn-Murphy, and 20 year-old activist Amelie Zilber, were listed among the honorees.
For Majimbo, her life has changed ever since the pandemic. She now has four million followers on social media, and has scored partnerships with Valentino, Beats By Dre and Bumble, winning an E! People's Choice Award and YouTube Streamy.
