Abroad based creator firm, GRIN, sacks 60 employees

A creator management platform based in California, GRIN, has laid off some of its workers.Â
According to sources, the number that was laid off was around 60 people, and this development is coming less than when Pinterest shut down its Creator Rewards program on November 30, 2022.
In the update provided by the firm and signed by GRIN’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Brandon Brown, he said it was the toughest decision in their eight years of existence.
He said, "Today we have very difficult news to share. We’re reducing our workforce and in the process letting go of many talented, hard-working, and high-character GRINners. As founders, this is the toughest decision we’ve had to make in GRIN’s 8 year history. For this outcome and the decisions that led to it, Brian and I take full ownership. We’re very sorry to take this action.
"All team members will be notified via email shortly confirming whether their position was affected or not. For those affected, you will also receive a meeting invite with your HR Business Partner to address any questions you have and help with the transition."
Explaining how the company got to that position, Brandon revealed that the 2020 pandemic was an advantage for GRIN, however, economic downturn, challenges in execution, and industry disruption affected their 2022 progress. He also noted that they made big investments in the period. Though it's unsure if those investments were related to the FTX collapse.
Notwithstanding, the firm promised 12 weeks of severance pay for departing employees, bonuses paid, three months of healthcare condition and career transition services.
